I am researching my Nix family line. I have documented proof as far back as Solomon Nix b.1785 south carolina, and firmly believe his father was Benjamin Nix, son of Joseph; but it would really help to know all of Benjamin Nix's children and if there is documented proof available for that info. I'm a fairly new researcher and finding information from that era in south carolina pretty sparce. In 1830, monroe co. ms, is living John Nix which I presume is a brother to Benjamin, son of Joseph. That would make him Solomon's uncle. Solomon is also in monroe, ms. and his son Jesse is also a head of family. Living near John are Aaron and Moses, but they are 50 years younger than John - would they be grandsons or nephews or? I'd appreciate any information you are willing to provide, and I am particularly interested in how to obtain any documentation that proves the relationships. Thank you - I envy your 20 years of research, I should have started a lot sooner.... Barbara

Hi, my name is Jack O. Nix. I show Joseph Nix was born in 1736 and died in 1790 and he had a son named William in 1756 and he died in1862. William had a son named Ambrose around 1800 and he had a son named Ambrose around 1825 and he died in 1886 and he had a son named Ambrose M. in 1848 and he died in 1893. Ambrose M. had a son named John Thomas, who was my grand father, in 1874. I was by my grand father's side when he drew his last breath on april 26'th 1956 in Florence Al. I would like any information any one might have on this line of Nix's My e-mail address is jackonix@comcast.net. I have been lead to believe that some of this line of Nix's lived in S.C. and later moved to Walker Co. Al. which is where my dad, Grady Chester and I was born. Thanks Jack
