Allen and Rebecca had 11 children John Newton Nix- 1861 Luvina Addaline Nix 1863 Milby E Nix 1865 Malinda Frances Nix 1866 Allen Kendrick Nix 1867 Laura Belle Nix 1870 William Daniel Nix 1871 Sina M Nix 1873 Andrew Jackson Nix 1875 Mary Alice Nix 1875 Charles Thomas Nix 1879
If anyone has any information on the ancestors of Allen and Rebecca, or where the Native American comes in let me know....

Son of Larry Allan Nix, and grandson of Virgil Nix. My Great Grandfather is Allen Nix who is the son of William F. Nix and Elizabeth Welch. My great aunt Hazel talked about Grandma Eliza, who is half Cherokee, with a teepee in front of her house in Oklahoma. Hazel, Jewell, Opal, Ola, Delbert, Oneita and Estell are siblings of my grandpa Virgil. There are many Nixes buried in Santa Paula, California. Pawnee, Oklahoma was Virgil Nixes birthplace. Aunt Hazel was born in Love County, Ok.

I am a descendant of the William Nix who migrated from Franklin Co., GA to Bibb County, AL circa 1820. I live about 8 miles from that area and it is where some of the branch of the James Nix>John Proctor Nix>Harvey Matthew Nix>Margaret Nortilla Nix (Clapp-my mother) have remained. What I am looking for is the actual location of the Nix Family Cemetery where Martin Nix (d.1865) and an infant female (d.1845?) of James was buried near Macedonia Church (where a number of Nixes are buried). I am trying to find out if that family plot was moved nearby to the Macedonia cemetery or did it remain where is was (and is now perhaps lost). Thanks.

Hello, all. I am new to the site and hope you can help me solve a family mystery. Before I go into all the details, is anyone here familiar with Eva Nix (1877 AL) daughter of Susan Josephine (1858 AL) and James Nix? Eva married William G Hall. I am particularly interested in their son, Thomas Jefferson Hall (1902 AL).

Randal, My name is Jack O Nix and I grew up in Walker Co. Al. There were a number of Nix families in the community between Carbon Hill and Nauvoo and around Prospect and to the best of my memory they were all related. During the mid 1800's to mid 1900's they were pretty prolific. My gr, gr, grandfather Ambrose had 11 children, his son Ambrose M. had 8 children, Ambrose M's brother Henry Valentine had 12 and another brother Pressley had 9. My grandfather John Thomas, the son of Ambrose M. had 11 children and his brother Henry Lee had 9 children and another brother Walter had 7. I'm not sure how many children the rest of John Thomas and Ambrose M' siblings had. Do you think we are related and if so how far back have you traced your lineage. It looks like mine goes at least as far back as Joseph who I think was born in 1736 and died in 1790 and was married to Sally Collier. I think she was born in 1740. What do you know about the Nix DNA project. If it is ligitimate I think I would be willing to participate. Thanks Jack. My e-main is jackonix@comcast.nte. My address is 411 cloverdale Dr. Tallahassee Fl. 32312
