I have added several new links to the site. Please enjoy the message board and chat room, just be sure to not say anything you would't want your ancestors or decendents to read. ;D I also have a lot more info I will be adding soon.

I am a great-great grand daughter of Elizabeth Nix who married Robert Storie. I have been told there is Cherokee Indian blood in that family. I can find no record of that. Do you have any information about an Indian marrying into the family? I am the Great-Great Grand Daughter of Luke Nix. I am trying to find more information on his wife Mary. If anyone knows about her please contact me at berryo@sbcglobal.net Thanks, B.Barrilleaux

Well, hi, I guess we're some sort of cousins. I'm Rachel, daughter of Karen Nix Bryant, and granddaughter of Roy D. Nix. I was doing some surname research and came across this site. Glad to have found it, very informative. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and thanks for creating the site. It's helped me out a lot.

Morris, I am also a descendent of John Nix (born about 1762 in Union Co, SC d. 1833 in Monroe Co, MS) and have some information on some of his descendents. I have more than one Andrew Jackson Nix listed in my files though, so am not sure which one is yours. Are you descended from John's son Aaron? or one of his other sons? I am also the project coordinator for the Nix DNA project. At the DNA project, we are using DNA testing of male Nixes combined with traditional family tree research to determine which Nix lines are related to one another. Once we can see from the DNA which lines match genetically, then we start the hard work of trying to figure out how they are kin. So far, two desendents of Randall's ancestor William Nix and one descendent of our ancestor John Nix have been DNA tested. From the test results we have so far, it does not appear that Randall's William Nix is related to our John Nix. Its likely that our John Nix's brother is a different William, because there are several William's all living at that same time period. I invite you to stop by the DNA project's webpage at www.nixfamilytree.com to see the project's results. There are DNA test results several Nix lines and ancestor information for the participants there as well. You can email me at tnix@rose.net anytime to discuss family tree stuff. I would love to hear from you, and would sure like to find out more about your Nix line's descent from John. Rachel, Is your ancestor Roy D. Nix, actually Roy Dewitt Nix who was born 23 Apr 1896 in Annona, TX and died Apr 1980? Or are you from a different Roy? If Roy Dewitt Nix is your grandpa, then you might be interested in checking out the DNA project's webpage as well. A descendent of Roy Dewitt Nix's uncle has been tested for the DNA project. His results and some info on William Nix's descendents are over on the results page at the DNA projects webpage. There are also some old pictures of some of this family hosted there as well. regards, Tom Nix

I was doing a search to try to find the date for the Nix family reunion. I beleive it will be held in Gainsville GA. It would be the decendents of Jasper Nix. If anyone know any info or where I might find out please e-mail me catheyfisher@hotmail.com. My mother would love to make the trip and meet and re-meet some of her family. Her parents were Dallas James Nix and Nellie Naomi Dyer. Thanks so much
